Official Region XVII 2015 T-Shirt
This year's shirt will be light blue and (most likely) long-sleeved. All shirts must be picked up at Region Weekend. All alumnae are encouraged to purchase a shirt and wear it to the Saturday night awards and Fun Night! Sales from t-shirts help to fund the outstanding programming needed to make Region Weekend the best experience possible!
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION PROMOTION: Alumnae who register for the full weekend and resort accommodations and make payment by February 7th, 2015, will receive their shirt free!
Directions
Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club is located in middle Georgia, approximately one hour south of Macon and 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta. The resort is located inside Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park.
Take I- 75 to Cordele Exit 101 and go west on Highway 280 for approximately ten miles. Go in the entrance of Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park and follow the signs to Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club. The Resort is a short but scenic drive through the park where guests might catch a glimpse of our trademark egret in the moss-shrouded cypress trees. You'll soon see why Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park is the most frequently visited state park in Georgia.
Lodging
& Meals
Alumnae registering for the full weekend receive double occupancy room accommodations and the following meals:
- Friday: Alumnae Appreciation Dinner
- Saturday: Continental Breakfast
- Boxed Lunch
- Buffet Dinner
- Sunday: Buffet Breakfast
The resort does have some vending services and a canteen, so please bring money if you need an extra boost throughout the day. There will also be a cash-only snack bar set up outside of the main conference rooms on Saturday afternoon with an assortment of drinks and snacks starting at $1 each.
Attire
Collegians will be wearing Business Casual or Business attire (e.g., badge attire) for all events except for the Saturday night dinner, which is casual. Casual** or Business Casual is acceptable throughout the weekend for alumnae.
On Saturday night, our awards dinner will be themed “Down Home with DZ”. We encourage everyone to dress in boots, cowgirl hats, jeans, etc. for this very casual, Southern-styled celebration. Alumnae are also encouraged to purchase the Region Weekend t-shirt and wear it to this event!
Region Weekend Philanthropy
As a region, we will be participating in two fundraisers for the Delta Zeta Foundation.
Rose Garden Basket Raffle
As a philanthropy fundraiser, we will be conducting a raffle for various gift baskets. The cost of each raffle ticket is a $5 donation to the Rose Garden, with all proceeds benefiting the Foundation. The more donations you make, the better your odds of winning a basket!
If your alumnae chapter would like to make a donation towards a basket or put together its own basket of goodies for display, please contact Carrie Soltay at [email protected] or 678-595-0453. It’s for a wonderful cause!
T-Shirt & Apparel Surplus Sale
Collegiate chapters will donate unused t-shirts from recent events that conference attendees (collegiate and alumnae) can purchase for $6 or less. All proceeds will be donated to the Foundation.
Greek Swag & Merchandise
Several Greek Vendors including American Greek, Creative Business Events (CBE) and DZ DeZigns will have merchandise available for your shopping pleasure!
There will be time to shop during registration, breaks and at the end of the day.
